The musical master score used by the conductor that contains all the parts written or printed out one beneath the other in parallel horizontal staves. The bar-lines of each part coincide vertically so that it is easy to see which notes from the whole ensemble need to coincide. Reading a full score of a large choral and/or orchestral work, with up to forty staves on the page, takes much practice, even for those who read music well.
